DEViation is a collaborative web-to-print layout tool. It’s based on pads, where multiple users can edit the same CSS stylesheet, and visualize input changes real-time. Each user is invited to modify and appropriate the existing layout, and to let it as it is for the next one. The aim of the workshop was to use this tool to produce a book highlighting the evolution of the layout though time and users. We proposed to deviate from the classical linearity of the book object by creating a set of books where each modification could be retrieved.
